Iran animation wins award at Brazil fest

Short animation ‘Pet Man’ has won an award at the Sao Paulo Times Film Festival in Brazil.

Directed by Marzieh Abrarpaidar the animated movie won the award for best animation at the event.

The 2D film tells the story of a pet shop owner who is asleep in the shop. He finds himself in a terrifying cage with other animals. Trying to break out, he faces a barrier each time.

Made in 2016, the film was produced in the Iranian center for development of documentary and experimental cinema.

The Sao Paulo Times Film Festival which gives awards in 14 categories has been celebrated since 2013.

The idea is to reward short films that have been internationally distinguished between 2-50 minutes.

The goal is to see the excellence that has been produced around the world in various categories.
